Nose Surgery by Type

The right rhinoplasty for you — tailored to your nose type

As the center of the face, the nose requires a surgical plan that changes with its type.
ROI Plastic Surgery uses a facial-proportion-based custom design
to create a natural, harmonious nose.

1. What is Type-Specific Rhinoplasty?

Every nose is different, and the optimal surgical approach changes with the type. ROI Plastic Surgery analyzes the patient's nose type, facial proportions, and skin condition together to design the most natural-looking result.

Our Rhinoplasty Principles

Custom design based on overall facial proportion — not the nose in isolation, but its harmony with the forehead, eyes, mouth, and chin.

Natural harmony over dramatic change — over-correction creates an unnatural look. Natural beauty comes first.

Structural stability secured — we account for nasal function and structural integrity, not appearance alone.

2. Low Nose — Augmentation Rhinoplasty

Recommended For

  • A low dorsum that makes the face look flat
  • A bulbous or under-projected nasal tip
  • Anyone seeking a more three-dimensional, refined look

Surgical Approach

The dorsum and tip are augmented naturally for a more three-dimensional face. Implant material and/or autologous tissue are used to improve dorsal height and tip shape together.

3. Long Nose

Recommended For

  • A long nose that makes the philtrum look short
  • A tip that drops downward
  • A tip that drops further when smiling

Surgical Approach

The tip is rotated upward and the nose length is reduced for balanced proportions. Septal cartilage is adjusted and the tip cartilages are repositioned to create a natural upturn effect.

4. Bulbous Nose

Recommended For

  • A rounded, bulbous nasal tip
  • Thick, oily skin over the tip
  • Anyone seeking a sharper, more refined tip

Surgical Approach

The tip cartilages are reshaped and excess fatty tissue is removed to refine the tip. Splayed tip cartilages are sutured together and, when indicated, cartilage grafting is added for a sharper tip line.

5. Short / Upturned Nose

Recommended For

  • Excessive nostril exposure on frontal view
  • An upward-rotated tip
  • A nose that appears short

Surgical Approach

The tip is lowered to reduce nostril exposure. A septal extension graft or cartilage grafting repositions the tip and establishes appropriate nose length.

Our Rhinoplasty Principles

Custom Design Based on Overall Facial Proportion

Rather than designing the nose in isolation, we consider harmony with the forehead, eyes, mouth, and chin. 3D CT analysis informs a precise surgical plan.

Natural Harmony Over Dramatic Change

Over-augmentation or over-modification produces unnatural results. We pursue changes that fit the patient's face naturally.

Why Thorough Pre-Op Consultation Matters

The surgical approach changes completely depending on nose type. A thorough consultation to accurately identify the patient's nose type and choose the optimal method together is the most important step of the entire process.
